According to the agricultural cooperative's standards:
Kiyoku (Supreme): Beautiful shape, 18 degrees Brix or higher
Tokushu (Extra Excellent): Beautiful shape, slightly lower than Kiyoku, 16 degrees Brix or higher
Shu (Excellent): Beautiful shape, slightly lower than Tokushu, 14 degrees Brix or higher
Yū (Good): Shape is inferior to Shu, 13 degrees Brix or higher
A: Shape and appearance are inferior, 12 degrees Brix or higher
Only melons shipped through the agricultural cooperative in Ibaraki Prefecture are selected with a light sensor; other melons are not.
Since shipping cooperatives do not have light sensors and therefore cannot determine sugar content, we do not stock them.
